Work can take a lot out of you. In order to remain productive and power through the week, it’s important to develop an effective morning routine. The way you start your day can make the difference between finishing a project on time or sitting at your desk all day, staring at your computer screen until a spark of motivation magically hits you. Here are a few morning habits that will get you in the mood to put your best foot forward all week.

1. Get enough sleep

Even though it might work for short periods of time, skimping on sleep in order to get ahead at work doesn’t end well in the long run. Sleep deprivation will only result in irritability and mistakes that could end up costing you your job. Do your mind and your body a big favor and get at least seven to nine hours of sleep a night.
